Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis causes pain and discomfort in the plantar fascia, which is a thick piece of tissue on the bottom of your foot. It can take a while for the plantar fascia to heal; primarily because of our need to walk- each step stretches and tears the fascia, which stagnates the condition. The foot pain is most commonly felt near the heel, and is usually most intense during the first few steps of the day.

How we can help:

  • Perform a gait analysis, which involves a computerized scan that will help us determine if you have any mechanical problems in your feet that is causing or contributing to the plantar fasciitis. *
  • Laser Therapy can accelerate healing time and reduce tenderness and inflammation.
  • Provide you with proper icing, stretching, and massage techniques.

*If you do have mechanical problems in your feet (i.e., fallen arches), orthotic shoe inserts can also be recommended to aid in the recovery process. We can provide orthotics, if necessary, as well.
